About-The Secondary Market

The secondary market is where collectors can purchase figurines which are no longer available at retail stores.  When a figurine is retired or sold out in the stores. it becomes impossible to purchase.  The figurine becomes more valuable and the collector is willing to pay a higher price, thus increasing the value of the figurine.  The collectors usually search websites on the internet to purchase figurines from the secondary markets.

There're several ways to end the production of a figurine.

When a figurine is Retired, the mold is broken and cannot be produced again.   No notice is given to the collector when a figurine is Retired.

When a figurine is Suspended, the figurine is temporarily taken out of production but can be brought back into production at a later date with a change of some sort to the figurine.

Closed figurines are "dated" figurines which are produced for a limited time, possibly for one year, or in a limited quantity.  There are also figurines produced for special occasions or events e.g. Club Member Exclusive figurines.

Couple Figurines (HUGE)

In the recent years, the figurines have become very big.  Not only are the figurines more expensive (each figurine cost more than $100), they have caused a huge problem as I am rapidly running out of cabinet space to display the figurines.  If you ask me, I still prefer the small and nice figurines...

Disney Series (Beauty & the Beast)

At first, I didn't want to start collecting Disney figurines because they were double the price of normal figurines and I know that once I start, it would be very difficult to stop.  However, I simply could not resist myself any longer.  I grew up listening to Disney stories and I know all the Disney characters by hard, they are so close to my heart.  What more can I say : Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, so how can I not own a Disney Precious Moments figurine...

About Me

I started collecting Precious Moments in year 2000, after I received my first figurine "Love One Another" from my then-boyfriend, now-hubby. Back then, the figurines were already very expensive (especially when I only bought couple figurines) and having just started working, it was an expensive hobby...I would save up to buy one figurine every month. I loved the beautiful figurines...they reminded me of love and God. I also had the opportunity to meet the 3 creators of Precious Moments, Eugene Freedman, Yasuhei Fujioka and Sam Butcher (finally in 2006)....and my precious "Noah's Ark" bear their 3 signatures. There was also a period of time when I lost interest and felt like discontinuing my collection. However, I realised there were many people around me who shared the same interest...from strangers, we became instant friends. Gob Bless...
